Akij Tableware Advances with Bone China, Stoneware, and Porcelain Manufacturing Plant
Akij Tableware has marked a significant milestone in its journey of growth and innovation by taking a step forward in establishing its advanced manufacturing facility for bone china, stoneware, and porcelain products. This initiative reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening local production capabilities while meeting international standards in quality and design.
The new facility will be developed on approximately 500,000 square feet of land, with the plant occupying a designated portion of the site. The ground floor will be dedicated to porcelain production, the first floor to stoneware, and the second floor to bone china manufacturing. Designed as a fully automated facility, the plant is expected to generate employment for around 2,400 people, contributing significantly to industrial growth and job creation in Bangladesh.
In terms of production capacity, the bone china unit is expected to produce around 21,000 pieces per day. The stoneware units will have a combined capacity of approximately 50,000 pieces per day. Meanwhile, the additional porcelain unit in the new plant is set to produce around 50,000 pieces per day, further strengthening the brand’s ability to meet growing market demand.
The foundation laying ceremony of this ambitious project was inaugurated on 15 April 2026 by Mrs. Monowara Begum, Chairman of AkijBashir Group. Her presence at the ceremony reflected the group’s strong leadership vision and unwavering commitment to growth and innovation.

Officials from AkijBashir Group and Akij Tableware were also present at the ceremony.
Speaking at the event, the leadership emphasized the importance of innovation, self-reliance, and global competitiveness. They also highlighted how this new plant will contribute to employment generation, skill development, and the overall economic growth of the country.
This initiative not only reinforces Akij Tableware’s position as a leading brand in the industry but also signals a promising future for Bangladesh’s tableware sector.
