Akij Ceramics Has Started ArchFuture – A Nationwide Hunt for Tomorrow’s Architectural Visionaries
Architecture is more than building plans; it is the emotion, texture, and harmony that flow through every corner of a space. Celebrating this artistry, Akij Ceramics in association with ArchBiz has launched ArchFuture- a platform designed to inspire young architects to reimagine interiors and define the future of living.
A Practical Approach to Design
What makes ArchFuture different is its emphasis on material-based problem-solving. Instead of designing freely on blank sheets, participants are given a unique combination of an apartment layout and a curated tile set- mirroring the constraints of real architectural practice. This encourages designers to explore how texture, color, finishes, and spatial relationships shape the atmosphere of a home. Every submission becomes a story told through surfaces, light, and thoughtful composition.
Guided by Bangladesh’s Most Respected Architects
The competition is judged by three of the country’s leading architectural figures. Prof. Ar. Rafiq Azam, renowned for his poetic approach to nature and space; Ar. Tanya Karim, celebrated for sustainable and human-centered design; and Ar. Mahmudul Anwar Riyaad, a pioneer in contemporary architectural expression. Their collective expertise brings credibility, fairness, and deep insight to the evaluation process, ensuring that creativity and clarity rise above everything else.

A Platform Designed for Emerging Talents
As Bangladesh’s urban environment evolves, the demand for expressive, intelligent interiors grows stronger. ArchFuture responds to this shift by empowering young designers to experiment with material combinations and rethink the role of interior surfaces in shaping mood and functionality. The competition offers an environment where participants can refine their instincts, understand real construction constraints, and grow as storytellers of space.
Who Can Step Into the Competition
ArchFuture is open to architecture students from any universities of Bangladesh in their 3rd, 4th, or 5th year, along with young practicing architects aged under 35. Registration begins physically at the Akij Ceramics Pavilion at Ceramic Expo 2025, where participants can collect the official competition booklet with layout codes, tile sets, and submission guidelines.
Celebrating Vision, Imagination, and Tomorrow
At its core, ArchFuture is a celebration of vision. It empowers the next generation of designers to see beyond the obvious; to imagine, interpret, and innovate. Whether you’re still exploring your creative voice or shaping your early career, this competition gives you a canvas to express ideas that redefine how interiors can feel and function.
