The local category 2nd award went to Akij Biax Films Ltd. at the 15th International Plastic Fair-2023. M. Hossain Iraz, director (operation) of Akij Biax Films Ltd. has received the award from Mr. Morshed Alam MP. 3-members expert committee consisting of Mr. Abdur Razzak, Dr. Ijaj Hossain, and Dr. Nadia Binte Amin visited the fairground and selected stalls of local & foreign for the award.
Akij Biax Films Ltd. (ABFL) is the only manufacturer of Biaxially-Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP), Biaxially Oriented Polyethylene Terephthalate (BOPET), and Cast Polypropylene (CPP) film in Bangladesh. As well, being a single source of all three films is also rare in the world. It has bought a revolutionary change in the packaging industry of Bangladesh. ABFL started commercial operations in 2018 with an investment of Tk. 350 crores and now with gradual improvement over time, it has turned itself into a company with an investment of Tk. 1500 crores.
